Appalachian Trail Volunteer Opportunities

The Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a continuous footpath extending more than 2100 miles between Springer Mountain in Georgia and Mount Katahdin in Maine. The Trail is maintained largely by volunteer labor organized in more than 30 maintaining clubs working with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and the National Park Service. The Cumberland Valley Appalachian Trail Club (CVATC) is one of those clubs, responsible for maintaining 17 miles of the Trail across the Cumberland Valley. There are some beautiful, pastoral scenes from the Trail in Monroe Township.

CVATC is looking for active volunteers to help with trail maintenance and the organizational work of the club. Come out and help us in our mission to keep this world-class recreational resource open and available to both local residents and long-distance hikers who come from all parts of the United States and beyond.

We have a regular work day on the 3rd Saturday of each month and an extensive hiking schedule available on our website: http://www.cvatclub.org

Please join us or call Christine Lauriello at 440-2112 or email us at cvatclub@gmail.com for additional information.
